Family business from Sohren
Pfisterer Hausmeisterservice und Handwerk is a family business from Sohren in the Hunsrueck. The owner is Elisa-Marie Pfisterer. We reliably take care of your home -- from landscaping and winter service to minor repairs and drywall.
We plan every job the way we used to plan IT and ERP projects: with fixed dates and a quote in which every item is spelled out. Right now we are testing this way of working on our own old building.
Our Background
We come from the world of IT and ERP: for years we planned complex projects and coordinated schedules across many stakeholders. Rene Pfisterer supports us strategically with over 10 years of project management experience. We bring that mindset to every job site.
From that world we carry one habit with us: as the work goes on, we keep comparing the planned costs with the actual ones. If an item starts to run over, we get in touch right away instead of surprising you with the final invoice.
Recurring tasks such as maintenance, landscaping or winter service we plan digitally with fixed appointments. Nothing is left undone and no maintenance round is forgotten -- not even when things get busy.
Our Reference: Core Renovation of Our Own House
Our first major project is the core renovation of our own old building in the Hunsrueck. We have already renovated the bulk of it, the external insulation is still to come. So we are right in the middle of it ourselves. That is exactly what shows what we can do as a family business: practical craftsmanship and a plan that holds even when things turn out differently on the building site.
Scope
Gutting, demolition, the worn-out floor structure, the roof insulation and the drywall we did in our own labour. The trades requiring a master qualification stayed with the experts: the complete rewiring was carried out by a certified electrician as a specialist firm, we assisted and prepared the chases. The external insulation is still ongoing.
Challenges
As so often with old buildings in the Hunsrueck, a few things came to light once we opened up the house. The timber-joist floor structure was rotten and undersized, so we had to renew and reinforce it. The old electrical system no longer met code, which is why the certified electrician rewired the whole house. And nothing was insulated to begin with. Because we had planned ahead, we worked through these findings without the project getting away from us.
Result
The bulk of the house is renovated and far better off in energy terms. The roof is insulated, the external insulation comes as the next step. We live in our own building site and know what hides behind old Hunsrueck plaster, with all the surprises that come with it.
